Minx Nails are solid film with a heat-activated adhesive backing. Heat makes Minx conformable to fit over the compound curve of a nail and seal the film firmly onto the nail bed. Our patent pending proprietary material makes Minx easy to remove with heat.
How are Minx Nails applied?
Your nails are buffed and shaped first, as in a conventional manicure. The Minx film is exposed to a heat lamp or other heat source then smoothed over the nail and trimmed to shape.
How long do Minx Nails last?
Minx will last from 1-3 weeks. They never chip. They may wear slightly on the free edge of the most heavily used nails but will not wear any further.
A helpful hint for clients who are rough on nails or clients who ‘pick’: Rub Minx into the nail to preserve it - rubbing away from the nail will make it lift.
Please Note: To preserve your nails, we recommend that you wear gloves when gardening or using abrasive products.
Do I need heat to remove Minx?
Yes, using heat makes the adhesive easier to remove once the seal has been broken. We recommend warm water or a hair dryer.
Be sure that the nail is hot enough before peeling it off, and don't remove a Minx nail from the cuticle to the free edge. Instead, remove it side to side. (This really makes a difference.)
Can I go into a hot tub wearing Minx?
Yes, when applied correctly Minx has a waterproof seal that will not release until the seal is broken. Until you lift the edge of a Minx nail with a fingernail or an object (eg. an orange stick) the seal will remain intact.
How long does it take to have Minx applied?
A Minx application takes about the same time as a regular nail polish application (a base coat, two coats of colour and a top coat).
How long does it take to dry?
NO time at all! Go ahead - you can immediately dig in your purse for your keys or slip on your shoes. Minx requires no drying time. As soon as your nails are finished, you are free to go. Minx is a dry coating so there’s never any smudging.
